Review: Recycled Champagne Glass Tray

Apr-9-2011 By Barbara Zak

The Recycled Glass Champagne Tray is a great example of reuse

This Recycled Champagne Glass Tray, is one of the most beautiful and fun gift ideas, I’ve come across in a while ! A champagne bottle flattened into a gorgeous tray. The deep green color of the glass, combined with ornamental decoration of copper and glass beads, makes it a unique and artistic, though very practical gift.  It absolutely can be a gift to yourself, and it was for me! I just had to have it.

The Recycled Glass Champagne Tray is so unique

Each piece is a one-of -a- kind, original piece of art, in a slightly different shape and configuration. Each item is unique, so it might vary slightly from the picture. Anybody that knows me, knows that I love things that are reborn into something useful. That is what I love about this recycled glass champagne tray.

Valcucine’s philosophy, is that of a company whose work method, is based on a system that balances the use and the restoration of environmental resources.  They save on raw materials, by favoring a design that is focused on materialization, the ability to recycle it, and the re-utilization of products, at the end of their lifespan.

Why Green Good Design Award Chose Valcucine

This is a new challenge, within the prestigious GREEN GOOD DESIGN AWARD contest, founded in 1950 in Chicago by Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames and Edgar Kaufmann Jr.  Every year, the GREEN GOOD DESIGN AWARDS contest, gives special recognition to the designers and companies, that achieve design excellence.  The goal, is to promote a healthier and more sustainable environment by means of their innovative products.

If one of your goals this year, is to give your business image a boost, you’ll be happy to know, you can do it and be “green.”

Print Runner has gone green.

As part of PrintRunner’s commitment to a greener planet, they have adopted, some of the most environmentally friendly printing practices in the industry.

They use only vegetable-based inks! By eliminating petroleum based inks, they are reducing their environmental impact. Vegetable-based inks are made from a renewable resource, and are low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Secondly, they don’t use chemicals for the development of their plates. By using a state-of-the-art direct-to-plate impositioning system, they have eliminated the chemical waste associated with traditional wet plate processing methods. Their printing, is done on the LS 540 Komori, one of the most efficient printing presses in the world! Then they recycle all of their waste paper and printing plates. Read the rest of this entry »
