Help Support Fair Trade

Fair Trade Products

It is hard to believe that October is almost over, and another shopping season is upon us. In an effort to help consumers find Fair Trade Certified products more easily, Fair Trade USA, is marking Fair Trade Month in October (right now), with the launch of a new social media initiative. Fair Trade USA has a new “Fair Trade Finder” Facebook and mobile (iPhone and Android) application.  It allows you to enter your location to find out where you can buy Fair Trade Certified products nearby, or in your town. You can also be among the first to populate the map with other Fair Trade product locations, in your area, or that you love to visit.  Best of all, it’s an easy way for the environmentally conscious to support farmers, communities and the earth.

What is Fair Trade?

This video explains Fair Trade and it’s importance in about 2 minutes.

Fair Trade Finder

Here is how YOU can be a part of the next step in going green by checking out the Facebook application here: www.fairtradeapp.com You can also download the mobile app from the Android here and iTunes here or at app stores.

Fair Trade USA Outreach Team and I, hope you enjoy the “Fair Trade Finder” Facebook and mobile application, that lets you find and add Fair Trade Certified (TM) products that are available in your local community.

I hope you can help  share this information about the “Fair Trade Finder” app with your friends, and also encourage them to contribute their own finds to the map. By participating in this small act, you can make a big impact on the lives of thousands of farmers and workers around the world in 58 developing countries. So, spread the JOY, and remember YOU CAN make a difference by supporting Fair Trade!

Special Thanks to Emma Stratford from Tripbase Travel, she knows that we here at Goal For The Green, focus on raising awareness on any and all types of green and sustainable issues. As a result, she sent me this article on the world’s most eco-friendly places, that I think might be of interest to you, for making any earth-friendly travel plans you may be considering.

Visit Tripbase.com here

In this concise overview, you will get to take a a look at the people and organizations striving to make the world a more sustainable place (from the most eco-friendly country and city right down to the most green home). Also, featured in the article is Masdar City – the ultimate exercise in zero-emission urban planning – and a little hideaway in Ireland, created almost entirely from the renewable materials surrounding it.

Emma and I hope you  enjoy this thought-provoking peek into the planet’s finest attempts at sustainability.

Another place you may want to add to your list is Bourgas, Bulgaria.  It is another beautiful destination to visit.  Be sure to Check here for flights to bourgas

Most of all enjoy your travels!
