Goal For The Green

At a time when our political environment, is fueled by discord, and with midterm elections looming, just hours away, there was a show in Washington, D.C. that proved, people can still work together.

Two comedians, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, kept most of their three-hour show, ” The Rally to Restore Sanity, ” to nonpartisan bits, musical entertainment, and gentle ribbing of the purported enemies of incivility, all with a gentle touch of humor. Few places on our small planet have suffered more repeated disasters in the past decade, resulting in loss of life and destruction of property, than the United States Gulf Coast. Katrina was bad. For many areas, Ivan was even worse. The BP blowout, resulted from insatiable GREED,  and hunger for carbon-based fuels.    These things are among the true causes, and reasons for the blowout. For me, it’s still a challenge, to attempt to wrap my brain around the size and complexity, of what has transpired since April 20, 2010, at the Macondo, Deep Water Horizon site.  I don’t live in the area, but I do know,  that the event  has altered life, in that particular area, irrevocably, and for many years to come.

Disneynature OCEANS, is available for purchase, TODAY, October 19, 2010, as a  Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack (Bluray+ DVD) and 1-Disc DVD, and is the extension of the “See OCEANS, Save Oceans” efforts –an initiative, which has been developed, between Disneynature and The Nature Conservancy, to help establish new marine protected areas.
