What’s Up?
Filed under: Featured, Misc, ladybugs, technology; Tagged as: blogs, cahill, ladybugs, special thanks, whole hog28 CommentsFor the last week or two, some of you may have been wondering if I fell off the planet!
. Not the case. I just wanted to give you a quick update on what’s up around here.Something went terribly wrong with my last theme. It was totally messed up , and not displaying nicely at all, on Explorer. I was also having some internal issues, while posting inside the blog. The theme was totally replaced once, but IE still didn’t like it, no matter what was tried.
So, it was time to seek out a new theme, to see if that would correct the problems. VOILA.. It did! Now, I have my own new customized look. Let me know what you think.
Special Thanks, goes to Theresa Cahill, of Whole-Hog-Blogs, for the extensive time and effort, she put into making the necessary changes!

Do You Have An Ant Problem?
Filed under: Featured, Health, Nature, Research, Sustainability, green living, ladybugs; Tagged as: ant problem, ants, bathroom floor, better tomorrow, buddies, chemicals, cinnamon, creatures, dishwasher, flickr, friend chris, fruit trees, kitchen counter, ladybugs, little critter, little critters, Pantry, s green, special thanks, time of year16 CommentsIt’s that time of year when the little brown creatures bring their their buddies into your house. I have to draw the line, when they start showing up on my bathroom floor, kitchen counter, and oh yeah, SURPRISE…in the dishwasher! Uggh! Regardless of everything you do to keep your house clean. There they are.

I found this wonderful article “Rid your home of ants, without chemicals”, from my friend Chris over at Living Well Naturally, that I wanted to share with you. The tips in the article are tried and true, and they really work. The idea is to lure the ants out, the way they came in, with things you already have in your pantry. Best of all, it’s cheap, it’s green, and it’s chemical free.
I was too late on getting this information to my husband, as he already had the person who treats our fruit trees (chemically free) come out and treat for ants. He never did come indoors, but no more ants. He will come back in 45 days just to be sure.
I sprinkled the Cinnamon by the front door, and put cut up strips of Bounce sheets in my pantry. I’m so happy, to not see these little critters in my house anymore, especially in my kitchen.
It is my hope that you find this information useful and helpful. By all means save yourself the money of having someone come out and do it for you. Yes, there are companies that take care of the problem, and keep it “green.” But, next time I see a little critter, I will be ahead of the game with this great information.
Special thanks to Chris for finding this. We are working toward a better tomorrow, and many more to come!

Jellyfish Plug-in Windpower
Filed under: Energy, Featured, Goals, Research, green living, ladybugs, wind power; Tagged as: 10 million, benefit, computer industry, developing technologies, different languages, google, guided tour, innovative ideas, jellyfish, ladybugs, questions and answers, related technology, renewable energy, research and development, special thanks, transportation organizations11 CommentsBack on January 26, 2009, I posted about Chad Maglaque’s plug-in windpower device. He calls it the Jellyfish. It is his entry to Google’s Project 10 to 100th. The project is a call for ideas, with the potential to change the world, by helping as many people as possible.
It is Maglaque’s hope that the Jellyfish becomes as affordable and acsessable to the world of renewable energy, as PC’s have become to the computer industry. He entered the Jellyfish in the Google contest, to be able to obtain funding necessary for safety testing and certification.
To date, Google has received more than 150,000 enteries, representing 25 different languages worldwide. It has taken longer than anticipated to review all those entries, and narrow the field. Be sure to Sign Up to Be Automatically Notified By Google When Voting Opens!
Google will award $10 million amongst five innovative ideas that are capable of changing the world. Maglaque’s You-tube entry is one of the most watched projects entered in the contest.
Clarian Technologies, a research and development firm, focuses on developing technologies that help energy and transportation organizations. Their goal is to help these organizations benefit and profit from the latest advances in energy related technology and information. They have committed to helping Mr. Maglaque bring the Jellyfish Wind Appliance to market sometime in 2010.
Everything you want to know about the Jellyfish Wind Appliance, along with questions and answers, can be found by clicking the link above. Here is a helpful tutorial and Guided Tour on windpower technology that may be of interest to you also.
Best of luck to Chad Maglaque, and Special Thanks to Clarian Technologies. They are definetly working toward many better tomorrows!
See where the cutest ladybugs live!
