    Adult Bottle

This is what was in my mailbox on Monday, February 22!  It’s the new adult glass bottle, from Lifefactory.  When, I opened the bubble-wrapped bag, (it survived shipping intact) my husbands response was “Where’s one for me!”  The same thing happened at my client’s house.  “Where did you get that?  I want one!”

The bottles hold 20 oz. or equal to 500ml.  The adult Lifefactory bottle, is simple and chic making it an evergreen product you will use for years to come.  Launching February 15, 2010, the bottles are being offered in six modern hues of Pearl White, Midnight Blue, Sky Blue, Spring Green, Orange and Red.  They retail for $22, and are available for purchase at http://www. lifefactory.com.  Be sure to get yours!

Lifefactory, the Sausalito, CA based eco-brand, is the first to bring reusable glass beverage bottles to the market.  These bottles prove to be essential in both style & fashion.  Lifefactory glass bottles are unique, in that what you see is what you get – you can see all contents of the bottle through the clear, neutral tasting glass.  The  wide mouth entry is great for ice cubes, tea bags and citrus slices.  Best of all, this bottle does not leach any harmful chemicals such as BPA’s, making it one of the safest on the market.  It  also offers a stylish design twist: the bottle is covered with a bright modern silicone sleeve that protects the bottle from breakage.

    Bottles

At Lifefactory, they have successfully fused modern sensibility, eco-friendly composition and exceptional utility. The Lifefactory adult bottle, is poised to be a favorite among the fashion, green and active lifestyle sectors.

Completely BPA free, the Lifefactory adult vessel, mimics the superior design of the child bottle, and is secured in a vibrant silicone sleeve that is 100% non-toxic, and helps prevent breakage.  The sleeve offers stellar gripping capabilities for easy toting, and can be boiled or put in the dishwasher for convenient disinfecting.  Again, the wide entry, makes  for effortless cleaning, and even allows essentials such as ice cubes, tea bags or citrus slices to be simply added to your liquid.

Glass is a nonporous material containing zero harmful chemicals,  significantly reducing bacterial growth.  With Lifefactory bottles, you will never experience any type of leaching into your liquid, nor will you ever be left with a metallic taste.  Best of all, glass is a low impact raw material that has  NO harmful chemicals and does not scratch.  Another plus, is that, glass is a raw material that is readily abundant, easy to process and 100% recyclable, which is minimally taxing on our environment.

  1. Hey Barbara.

Cool. I’ve ALWAYS liked drinking from glass as opposed to anything else. Around home here, I use mason jars to drink from, but the glass presented here is pretty nice looking and looks like it would have a pretty nice feel to it.

    Thanks for the good post!

  8. Linda hit my question right on the head. I understand the “wrapping” so to speak, but are they hardy?? I, too, would prefer glass to plastic!

  9. @ Man Over Board,

No, there are not wholes, just a wide mouth. The silicone sleeve is like that, so you can view the level of the contents in side! :)

  10. @ psyche,

They are quite eye catching! I’m enjoying mine!

  11. @ Linda,

It was shipped in an express mail bag, and wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap!
It has been knocked on the floor from my kitchen table, and fallen from the seat in my car, and hit underneath the dash on the floor. Not a problem at all! The silicone sleeve, really does protect it well! :)

  12. @ Diane Scott,

I love mine. It is holding up great. Survived the shipping intact, and check my comment to Linda!
It has taken a little trauma already, and is doing fine!

  14. These are very cool and also very sporty looking. I am with everyone else in the I am not one to drink out of plastic or Styrofoam.

I was surprised to read they were glass also…then as I read down learned a bit more about the latest in reusable glass…

One has to love technology…it most definitely has its positive side.
I also love those baby bottles…they are awesome.

Thanks for the insight into whats new on the bottle rack :)

  15. Wow! That is very cool looking. Of course, I love it even more since the outer cover is green. Green is my favorite color.

  16. I too love drinking out of glass. I love the look of these! I seriously am going to have to consider getting some.

  17. @ DorothyL,

The durability and design, are very well thought out in this product.
It really is good and refreshing, to be able to have Ice cold water, or whatever your favorite beverage is, and not have to think about leaching, as is so common with plastic.
I think the baby bottles are perfect, with no worries of BPA! :)

  18. @ Karen,

Yes, I love it in green! The cover is proving to be a very good protector of the glass. Mine, goes with me everywhere! It really is nice, to be able to drink out of glass on the go! :)

  19. @ Stacie,

It is well, worth it! You can get them at the links here in the post, or at lifefactory .com. I’m sure you will love them! I do! :)

  25. @ Connie Foggles,

Oh yes, Given the choice, I prefer glass. I use this bottle daily..I’m loving it! :)

  27. Hi Barbara,

I checked out their website. I am truly grateful there is an alternative to plastic on the market. With the safety silicon sleeve they should be well recieved.

I remember those heavy glass baby bottles from back in the ’50s. When I was a baby, they sure helped develop great big baby biceps. I can remember clobbering my baby brother over the head, with my empty bottle, so I could take his full bottle away from him.

How heavy are the empty bottles? I could not find a weight on the website. Are they something light enough the younger generation will be willing to carry them in their backpack? Are they so heavy the older generations will not want to carry them? Are they sufficiently heavy that I could use mine for defense, for when my younger brother kicks my walker out from under me, so he can take my bottle from me?

  28. @ psyche,

Yes, there are many pluses to glass. It is dishwasher friendly with NO leaching, like
    plastic does.

  29. @ Lissof,

I think Lifefactory thought of everything, when it comes to these bottles. They are relatively lightweight.
I don’t think children would mind carrying them, at all. I like them better than a thermos.
Beware, your brother may try and steal it from you…because it is cool! But it can take, the battle and
still be fine! Just, defend your bottle, and tell him he has to get his own! :)
