@ Karen,
I know isn’t that strange? I’ mean really! When it was 1910, did they they say one thousand nine hundred ten?
No, it was 1910. So, why wouldn’t we say twenty- ten? It wasn’t an issue until now that, we are in a new decade! -
Happy New Year to you all!!

A very Happy and Prosperous New Year to you Barbara! I know how very hard you worked throughout 2009. Now to bring it all together in 2010!

It’s nice that there’s one holiday that most of the world celebrates. I have to admit that Sydney’s New Years celebration is one of my all time favorites. I’d love to go there one day to see it in person.

I agree with Connie – it’s a holiday everyone can celebrate!

I suppose the issue has arisen because two thousand is only marginally longer to say than twenty, while nineteen wins hands down over one thousand nine hundred.
Very best wishes for you and yours for the new year and for the next decade.

@ A. @ A Changing Life,
Thank-You for your thoughts on this question of what we should call the New Year!
Twenty-ten sounds easy enough! Thanks also, for the New Year and decade wishes.
All the Best to you and yours, in this New Year and decade!

It is rather fabulous that so many happy faces and so many happy explosions were used to celebrate the dawning of 2010.
It is interesting to note that the only truly exposed skin among the males was in New York’s Times Square and London.
Not sure what the guitar player in his jockies was attempting to show in New York, but whatever it was, he showed it all.
Congratulations to humanity for making it one more year without actually blowing itself up.
