@ Diane Scott,
Thank-You! I’m glad your whole family enjoys the sand art!
All the best to You and yours, for a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

In my ignorance, I thought sand art was within the art culture of only South West American Indians.
How wrong I was.
The emphasis here seems to be on the precision of the sketch and the near miraculous transformations of shape taking place before one’s eyes.
Indians of the South West make use of the rich color contrasts available in the clays and sands native to that part of the US.
No matter, both display a wonderful sense of proportion and design.
Thanks for exposing me to yet another avenue of beauty.
Happy New Year to you.

@ Beth Charette,
Happy New year to you! Thank-You for you inclusion here, of the South West Indian culture, and the beautiful things they do with colored sand and clay.
I’m glad you found the use of a light box enlightening and pleasurable. The talent of the artists is amazing!
I find this form of art fascinating, and I love sharing it with my audience!
Hope to see you here again, in the New Year!
