I first started blogging in March of this year. I’ll admit I’m not very techie, but at that time I was determined that this was going to be my retirement career. All I knew is I wanted to write. The rest I hoped would just take care of itself. I had written some good posts and gotten some favorable response, but nothing that knocked my socks off. I knew there had to be a better way.
At Blog Catalog, I noticed Forced Green. I fell in love with that site and longed for something that beautiful. There also was a widget on that site about Whole-Hog-Blogs. I just had to know what that was. I was amazed at what they had to offer, and for a reasonable price. I just had to come by and give you a huge thank you for your endorsement! It means the world to us!
Over the years, the one re-occurring theme clients ask is… “Where’s my traffic?!” Now it doesn’t matter if the service they signed up for did not say a word about that, it’s still what was expected.

Whole Hog sounds great…. Just have to have the $$$ to invest. Are these blogs actually making money? If there is no return, I can not justify the expenditure. Also working outside the home my time to devote is extremely limited. I just don’t know.

Yes, my time is limited also..due to work outside the home. I am just now getting in that category of making money and receiving offers. It is a process that takes time. You know like if you build it they will come! I have used my time at WHB, to build my online presence, reputation and good alexa ranking. Now, the rest will follow. I’m now off-setting monthly operating expenses. It’s a start. Nothing is overnight!
Hi Barbara- this is a great post! Yes, Whole Hog Blogs is terrific and the support is superb. I only started 2.5 months ago and am so pleased with my results. I knew nothing about blogs when I started and Theresa helped ramp up my training in no time. I too enjoy the community and truly working with genuine people who have great knowledge and insight…and are willing to share.

I just celebrated my 2nd blogoversary on my own domain, and I am in no way an SEO expert, but I’ve taken a more laid back approach to my blogging and I feel like I’ve been very successful. I comment on other blogs, blog about things I’m interested in, participate in a few organic exchanges and Entrecard lists, and have been lucky enough to be Stumbled quite frequently, and I’m topping 1000 visitors a day. That may not be HUGE, but I never in a million years expected 1000 people a day to visit my blog.

Traffic is always difficult when blogging even for people who have been blogging for a long time. I write and try to comment on other blogs as much as I can. I also love Twitter and forums. I’ll be checking out your links too,
